How to file a General Diary (GD) in Bangladesh
Sometimes we lost our important things like it could be our passport, NID card,students card or certificates.On the other hand, sometimes some people threat us to do something or for any cause.So then you need to suit a GD for getting remedy. It is the way to get remedy by legal procedure. First of all, You have to go nearest police station from where it is lost.
It is the one kind of document for taking legal action against this situation. But, On the other hand, We have to know It is not a case or civil suit.But General Diary helps to police officers to take certain actions.
Under section 44 of the police act 1861,According to the section criminal procedure (CrPC) 154 and 155 law requires GD.
Important tips for you If you wanna file a GD.
1.You have to be confirm that you have lost it. That thing where you lost it you should re-check that thing there. You should also ask some peoples about your thing haven't they got this thing. Because after filing GD, If you get you can not use legally that product which have you lost.
2.To file GD,It's totally free.But you should write your GD by you own.On the other hand if you go police station and say them to file a GD by writing their own then they can demand to you some money.So, I suggest you that you write your own GD. we will instruct to you how to write GD below.
3.If You don't know exactly where have you lost this things,no need to inform to the police officers about any place.By telling they can harasse you to go another police station.
4.No need to mention so much information in the GD.For filling GD the police officer can ask you some or several questions just give answer shortly. In the GD form you need to mention your NID number or some other information like:
